Lesley Train
My name is Lesley Train, purveyor of doodles.
This little stamp making company started with a few ideas years ago and evolved into inky pinky press in early 2001. Recently I've made my designs available in art stamps and they can now be enjoyed online.
Prior to 2001, I worked in different facets of Emergency Services. I had a variety of on call positions including duties as a paramedic, among other interests. There was always a pager involved. My experiences represent some of the best years of my life.
This path changed for me when my Multiple Sclerosis changed its course. I had successfully worked for many years in a demanding field with MS, but it was time to try something different. The creative ideas that I had entertained years ago were put into action and inky pinky press was made a reality.
Since being diagnosed, I have been educating myself about Multiple Sclerosis and what is on the horizon for a cure and effective treatment. During the past few years there has been a lot of talk about remyelination. This is a research that is being studied all over the world and can benefit many that need help. Neurological illnesses such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease and ALS (known commonly as Lou Gehrig's disease). Also, Diabetes, head injuries, spinal cord injuries and stroke victims, even mental illness. This is just a handful of the many conditions and diseases that can be helped using remyelination. It is an important science and can end much suffering and death. You can check out the progress in the research being done at www.myelinrepair.org.
Part of the profits from inky pinky press will be donated to the study of remyelination. Some of the best and most dedicated research scientists are collaborating at several different institutes around the world with the same view to effective treatment and ultimately, cures.
